Going to court, whether you’re the defendant or the plaintiff, is stressful and time consuming. It can be a life changing moment for some, and a time waster for others. Whatever the case (pun not intended), it’s important really understand how you should prepare before going into your court hearing.
The first thing you should do is to get very familiar with your case. Know the ends and outs, and don’t be sidelined by information that you did not know or remember. Never go into a court hearing where you don’t know the ins and outs of the case. Do this by writing things down when you have meetings, and even possibly recording certain things. Get all your information together. Make sure that you know everything that there is to know and that you hire the right lawyer that you know that will take care of you and take care of you well. This is incredibly important in making sure that you’re able to get a lawyer that knows your case, and is willing to spend time and energy on making sure you come out with the best deal possible.
Once you have your case together, you know exactly what needs to be done, and you have organized files of information, make sure that you look nice on the day of the hearing. Get a well fitting suit or women’s suit, or other classy clothing to make sure that you’re seen well by the judge and/or jury. Let them know you’re serious about advancing yourself and that you are a trustworthy individual. Get an awesome outfit at Nordstrom Rack for less.
If possible, you can also prepare by seeing a live case in action if it is possible in your area so that you can get a feel for what the day will be like. Make sure that you take notes, and understand what is going on, so you can see how everyone reacts.
